Camper Van and Sprinter Work Is Its Own Discipline
Plenty of shops can straighten a stock cargo van. Very few understand what happens when that van has a $40,000 conversion inside it, and fewer still know how to make a carrier pay for it.
A rear impact on a Sprinter conversion does not just bend sheet metal. It shifts a cabinet run that was bonded to the wall, loads a lithium bank that was never designed to take an impulse, and pulls apart a roof penetration that was sealed around a solar array. If the estimate only counts the panel, everything else becomes your problem six months later.
We repair and build modified vans every week, which means we know what to photograph, what to itemize and what a carrier will challenge. That documentation is usually worth more to the outcome than the bodywork itself.
- Collision and refinish
- Mercedes Sprinter, RAM ProMaster, Ford Transit, Metris and Rivian EDV. Structural correction, panel work and color match. $1,500 to $40,000 and up.
- Conversion and build-out
- Full camper conversions, mobile office and mobile medical builds, insulation, headliner, windows and cabinetry. $5,000 to $80,000 and up.
- Electrical, solar and lithium
- Roof arrays with MPPT, LiFePO4 house banks, DC-DC charging, inverters and shore power. Roof penetrations sealed the way they should have been the first time.
- Claim documentation for modified builds
- The aftermarket work gets photographed, itemized and valued separately so it does not get written off the estimate as a cargo van.

The Estimate Is Written After the Teardown, Not Before
Most underpaid RV claims are not the result of anybody acting in bad faith. They happen because somebody wrote a number from the outside of a vehicle that hides its own damage. A laminated sidewall separates from its substrate on impact and that separation keeps spreading for weeks. What looked like a $6,000 panel job on Monday is a $28,000 structural job once the skin comes off.
So we tear it down first. Panels off, structure measured against factory spec, everything photographed under controlled light. Then the plan goes to your adjuster with the evidence already attached. A supplement backed by photographs of exposed structure is very hard to argue with. A supplement backed by a guess is very easy to deny.

How a Repair Actually Runs Here
Bring it in and we look at it together
Drive in or have it towed to Yorba Linda. We tell you what we can see and, just as importantly, what we cannot see yet.
Day 1
Teardown before the estimate is final
Panels come off the damage zone. Structure gets measured and photographed. This is where the real scope shows up.
Days 2 to 5
We take the claim to your adjuster
A line-item plan with evidence attached goes direct to your carrier. We handle the back and forth so you do not have to.
Days 5 to 10
The work runs in the right order
Structure, then skin, then systems, then paint. Skipping that sequence is how a coach comes back leaking two years later.
Weeks 2 to 12
Quality check and water test
Multi-point inspection, slides cycled, every disturbed penetration resealed, and a full water test before you see it.
Final week
Delivery and a straight conversation
We walk the repair with you, hand over the documentation, and tell you what to watch. We stand behind our work.

Why People Drive Up From the Coast to Use Us
- One roof, no subcontracting
- Collision, paint, fiberglass, frame, slides, electrical, plumbing and custom fabrication all happen in our building. Structural work never leaves the property.
- Teardown before the number
- We open the damage zone before finalizing scope. It is slower on day three and dramatically faster on week six, because nothing gets discovered late.
- Real capacity
- 35,000 square feet, a booth that fits a 45 foot coach, and enough bays that your vehicle is not parked for a month waiting for space.
- Posted rates, no mystery
- Body and paint $210 per hour. Mechanical and electrical $260. Diagnostics $285 with the first hour credited back. Materials and parts markup are published.
- We stand behind our work
- If something we repaired is not right, bring it back. We would rather fix it once at our cost than have it become somebody else problem.
- Licensed and compliant
- California BAR ARD00288521 and EPA CAL000367879. Ask any shop for theirs. If they hesitate, that tells you something.

Getting Here From San Clemente
We are at 23281 La Palma Ave, Yorba Linda, CA 92887, roughly 45 minutes from the pier. The usual run is the I-5 north to the 91 east, or the 73 to the 55 if the 5 is stacked through Irvine. Either way you exit onto La Palma with room to swing a long coach into the yard.
People bring us work from Talega, Forster Ranch, Marblehead, Rancho San Clemente, Shorecliffs, Southwest San Clemente and the rest of south Orange County, plus Dana Point, Capistrano Beach and San Juan Capistrano. Coastal storage is hard on these vehicles. Salt air finds crimps and grounds, marine layer humidity works into every seam, and a Santa Ana event will take an awning off a coach that has been sitting since spring.
Mon to Fri 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Sat 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Sun Closed
Questions We Get Asked
Do you work directly with insurance companies?
Yes. We bill direct with Progressive, GEICO, State Farm, AAA SoCal, AAA Enterprises, Mercury, Allstate, American Family and others. We write the estimate, assemble the documentation and handle supplements with your adjuster. Insurance-billed work may be written at carrier-negotiated labor rates that differ from our posted retail rates, and we explain that before you authorize anything.
Can my insurance company make me use their shop?
No. In California you choose the repair facility. Your carrier can recommend a direct repair program shop and that is often reasonable, but the decision is yours. If the shop they suggest has never pulled a laminated RV sidewall, that is a fair reason to choose differently.
What does an estimate cost?
Collision estimates are by appointment and insurance walk-ins are always welcome. An RV systems estimate covering slides, awnings, water, electrical or generator is $150. An in-depth diagnostic is one hour at $285. Both are credited back against an authorized repair.
How far is the shop from San Clemente?
About 45 minutes. Most people run the I-5 north to the 91 east, or take the 73 to the 55. We are at 23281 La Palma Ave, Yorba Linda, CA 92887, and the yard has room to turn a 45 foot coach without drama.
Do you offer mobile or roadside repair?
No. Everything is done in shop. The work we specialize in needs a frame rack, a paint booth deep enough for a Class A, lift capacity and a controlled cure environment. None of that fits in a van, and doing it in a parking lot produces the repairs we end up redoing.
How long will my RV be in the shop?
Minor cosmetic work runs one to two weeks. Moderate multi-panel damage with paint runs three to six weeks. Major structural work with cap replacement runs eight to twenty weeks, and parts availability drives that more than labor does. You get a written date at authorization and an update whenever it moves.
Can you handle a modified camper van build?
Yes, and documenting the build is half the job. Solar arrays, lithium banks, custom cabinetry and off-grid systems have to be itemized and valued separately or a carrier will write them off the estimate entirely. We photograph and price the build as part of the claim package.
What do you not do?
We do not do engine, drivetrain or DOT inspection work on commercial trucks. We do not do mobile or roadside service. We do body, paint, structural, systems, interior and equipment installation, all of it at the Yorba Linda facility.
