Tiffin Repair
Tiffin Motorhome Repair and Body Work
Short answer
Tiffin coaches are repair friendly by design and the owner community is unusually informed. We match that with straight scoping and real numbers.
OCRV Center repairs Tiffin Allegro, Allegro Bus, Phaeton, Zephyr and Wayfarer coaches for owners in San Clemente and along the south county coast. Work includes collision and structural correction, full body paint blending, slide service, windshield replacement, chassis electrical and interior cabinetry repair in Yorba Linda.

Tiffin has a reputation among owners for building coaches that can actually be worked on, and in our experience that reputation is earned. Access to systems is better than average, structure measures predictably, and parts identification is more straightforward than on several competitors.
Tiffin owners also tend to know their coaches well and to have read up before they arrive. That suits us. We would rather explain the actual finding to someone who will push back on it than deliver a number to someone who has no way to evaluate it.
What Comes In on a Tiffin
Front cap damage and full body paint work dominate, followed by slide seals and roof terminations. On the Allegro Bus and Zephyr the paint schemes are elaborate enough that a small area of damage frequently means refinishing a large area to make the repair invisible.
That is worth understanding before you file a claim. An estimate that covers only the damaged square footage will not produce a finish you are happy with on a coach at this level, and the blend into adjacent panels is a legitimate line item rather than an upsell.
- Cap and fiberglass
- Fiberglass cap repair $750 to $12,000 and up. Full cap replacement $4,500 to $25,000 and up depending on model and parts availability.
- Full body paint
- $5,000 to $35,000 and up. On an Allegro Bus with a multi-stage scheme, plan on the upper half of that range for a full refinish.
- Slide systems
- Mechanism service $500 to $8,500 and up. Seal replacement $400 to $3,000. Tiffin slide access is better than most, which shows up as fewer labor hours.
- Windshield
- Class A one or two piece replacement $2,500 to $7,500. Frame condition matters as much as the glass on any coach this age.
Coastal Storage and a Tiffin Finish
A Tiffin stored near the coast in San Clemente or Dana Point ages its finish faster than the same coach stored inland. UV plus salt aerosol plus daily marine layer cycling attacks clear coat and sealant on a measurably shorter timeline.
On a coach with a finish worth protecting, ceramic coating and a shortened reseal interval are genuinely worth the money. Detailing labor is $95 per hour, the lowest rate we post, and correction now is far cheaper than refinish later.
The PowerGlide Chassis and Why Access Is Better Here
Allegro Bus, Zephyr and most Phaeton coaches ride the PowerGlide rail, a chassis Tiffin developed and built itself rather than buying from Spartan or Freightliner. Allegro Red uses PowerGlide or a Freightliner rail depending on year, the gas Allegro sits on the Ford F53, and Wayfarer is a Mercedes 3500 based Class C. The practical consequence for a repair is that chassis parts and specifications for a PowerGlide coach come from Tiffin, not from a truck chassis supplier, so the parts call goes to a different place than owners expect.
Where Tiffin genuinely differs from its competitors is service access. Panels are fastened in a way that anticipates removal, wiring runs are traceable, and the parts operation sells directly to owners with published parts manuals. That shows up on an invoice as fewer labor hours for the same job, because our technicians spend less time defeating the build to reach a component. It is not a small effect on a 45 foot coach with a full wall slide.
- One piece fiberglass roof
- Bus and Zephyr coaches use a molded roof rather than a stretched membrane, so roof work is fiberglass repair and refinish rather than membrane replacement. Different materials, different labor entirely.
- PowerGlide chassis service
- Air bags, ride height valves, tag axle controls and the steering components on a PowerGlide coach are specified by Tiffin, so the reference data and the parts come from the coach builder.
- Slide access
- Hydraulic rams on the large rooms, electric rack and pinion on the Open Road floorplans, with service points that are actually reachable. Mechanism service $500 to $8,500 and up.
- House wiring and diagnosis
- Traceable harness runs and labeled distribution panels cut diagnostic hours. Diagnostics bill at $285 per hour with a one hour minimum credited against an authorized repair.

Tiffin Questions We Get Asked
Are you a Tiffin service partner?
No, and we make no claim of endorsement, certification or affiliation with Tiffin. The license that governs our work is a California Bureau of Automotive Repair number, ARD00288521, held by an independent facility in Yorba Linda. Tiffin owners tend to research before they arrive, so we would rather be plain about what we are: a specialty collision, paint and systems shop with the booth depth these coaches need.
How does coastal storage affect an Allegro Bus finish?
It shortens the life of both clear coat and sealant measurably. UV load, salt aerosol and daily marine layer cycling in San Clemente or Dana Point attack a painted surface faster than the same coach parked inland. Correction and ceramic coating at our $95 per hour detail rate is inexpensive against a refinish, and on a stored coach we tighten the sealant inspection interval rather than waiting for the usual annual look.
Do you repair one piece fiberglass roofs on a Zephyr or Allegro Bus?
Yes. A molded roof is repaired as structural fiberglass: grind back to sound laminate, lay in cloth and resin to restore thickness, fair the surface, then refinish to match the surrounding paint. That is a different trade from patching an EPDM or TPO membrane, and using membrane methods on a molded roof produces a repair that reads as a bulge in sunlight. Fiberglass repair runs $750 to $12,000 and up.
My Tiffin has a slide seal leak. Is replacing the seal enough?
Only if the opening is still square. Wiper, bulb and D-seal replacement runs $400 to $3,000 and it solves a genuinely worn seal. If the opening racked from an impact or from seasons parked on uneven ground, the room compresses the new seal unevenly and the stain comes back within a year. We check the opening geometry before quoting seals, because the wrong repair is cheap twice instead of correct once.
Can you get Tiffin parts for an older Phaeton?
Usually, and more easily than for most brands of the same age. Tiffin publishes parts manuals and its parts operation sells to owners and shops directly, which keeps trim, glass frames and interior hardware available longer than the segment norm. PowerGlide chassis components come through Tiffin rather than a truck supplier. We get written lead times before authorization so the schedule we give you is built on real dates.
