Coachmen Repair
Coachmen Repair Across Motorized and Towable
Short answer
Coachmen spans Class C, Class B and towables at a value price point. Cabover seams and roof penetrations are the two things we check on every one.
Coachmen Freelander, Leprechaun, Concord, Prism, Galleria and Catalina units are repaired at OCRV Center in Yorba Linda, an independent shop San Clemente owners reach in about 45 minutes. We rebuild cabover structure, reseal cab to house seams, correct van unibody damage and repair roofs and slides.

Coachmen Class C products are the volume of what we see from this brand, and the cabover is where the story usually is. Any front end impact on a Class C loads the cab to house seam, and that seam is the single most common source of post-repair water intrusion across every Class C builder, not just Coachmen.
The Galleria on the Sprinter chassis is a different animal entirely, and it gets treated as a van build rather than a motorhome: unibody measurement, bonded interior considerations and documented aftermarket value on any claim.
The Cab to House Seam Decides the Outcome
On a Class C the cab is a factory vehicle and the house is built onto it. The joint between them flexes constantly in normal driving and it takes the load in almost every front end impact. A repair that addresses the visible panel and not the seam produces a coach that leaks in a season.
We tear the cabover down far enough to see the seam on any Class C front end job, and we reseal the full seam rather than the damaged portion. It adds hours and it is why the repair holds.
- Seam inspection and reseal
- Full seam rather than the damaged section. Partial reseals fail at the transition between old and new sealant within a couple of seasons.
- Cabover structure
- The bunk structure over the cab carries load and hides damage. Measured rather than eyeballed on any impact job.
- Roof penetrations
- Recoat and reseal $750 to $4,500 and up. On a value build the factory sealant bead is adequate new and not adequate at year five.
- Galleria and van products
- Sprinter based, handled as unibody work. Collision and refinish $1,500 to $40,000 and up, with the interior build documented separately for a claim.
Catalina, Apex Nano and the Lightweight Towables
The lightweight Coachmen towables trade structure for towability, which is a reasonable trade until something hits them. Panel damage on an ultra-lite frequently involves the structure behind it because there is not much of it.
We measure rather than assume on these. A trailer that looks like a panel repair sometimes needs the wall section rebuilt, and finding that at teardown instead of at reassembly is the difference between one estimate and a supplement fight.
Which Cab Is Under Which Coachmen
Freelander and Leprechaun are cutaway Class C builds on the Ford E-450, with some Leprechaun floorplans on a Chevrolet 4500. Concord is Ford E-450. Prism Elite and Prism Select use the Mercedes 3500 cutaway. Cross Trek and Beyond are Ford Transit based. Galleria and Nova are Sprinter 3500 Class B conversions. Mirada and Encore ride the Ford F53 gas rail. Every one of those measures differently, and on the van products the correct answer is a unibody rack rather than a chassis datum sheet.
The towable side runs from Apex Nano, which uses laminated walls with a composite backer, down through Catalina with aluminum framing and a smooth fiberglass skin, to Clipper and Viking where weight targets leave very little structure behind the panel. On an ultra light trailer a panel strike frequently involves the framing behind it, because there is not much framing to begin with. We measure those rather than assuming a panel repair and discovering the wall at reassembly.
- Roof membrane
- One piece TPO over crowned trusses on most current product, with the fan, vent and air conditioner collars carrying the factory sealant bead that ages first on a value build.
- Slide hardware
- Schwintek in-wall units on Class C bedroom rooms and Apex Nano, Lippert rack and pinion on the Mirada rooms. Mechanism service $500 to $8,500 and up depending on which one and how much access it needs.
- Galleria and Nova claims
- A Sprinter based Class B carries two valuations, the chassis and the interior build. We photograph and itemize the build so the carrier sees more than a cargo van in the database.
- Parts path
- Coachmen is a Forest River division with its own parts desk, and molded Class C caps for current models are generally obtainable. Discontinued colors and older window frames are where the calendar slips.

Coachmen Questions We Get Asked
Does Coachmen certify or sponsor OCRV Center?
It does not. No certification, sponsorship or endorsement exists between Coachmen and this facility, and none is implied by the fact that we repair these units. We operate under California BAR license ARD00288521 as an independent specialty shop in Yorba Linda. Owners come to us for collision, structural, roof, slide and water damage work because we hold the tooling for both the Class C side and the Sprinter side.
Why do you insist on opening the cabover on a Class C front end repair?
Because the cab is a factory vehicle and the house is built onto it, and the joint between them flexes constantly and absorbs the load in nearly every frontal impact. A repair that addresses the visible panel and leaves that seam alone produces a coach that leaks within a season. We tear the cabover down far enough to see and measure the seam, then reseal the entire length rather than only the damaged portion.
How is a Coachmen Galleria repair different from a Class C repair?
Completely different discipline. A Galleria is a Sprinter unibody, so structure gets measured against factory specification and pulled on a rack, and door apertures are the test rather than panel gap. The interior is bonded to the shell, so removal for access has to be planned. And ADAS sensors behind repaired structure require scan and recalibration, which runs $285 to $1,800 and is one of the most commonly omitted lines on an outside estimate.
Can you repair a Catalina or Clipper after a low speed impact?
Yes, though we measure before quoting on the lighter trailers. Weight targets on an ultra light mean the structure behind the skin is minimal, so a strike that would leave a larger trailer with a panel repair often deforms framing here. Finding that at teardown rather than at reassembly is the difference between one written estimate and a supplement argument halfway through the job.
What does an inspection cost if I just want to know the condition?
An RV systems estimate is $150 and it is credited against an authorized repair. That covers a technician on the unit with tools, checking slides, awnings, water, electrical and generator function. Collision estimates are scheduled by appointment and insurance walk ins are welcome. In depth diagnostic work is one hour at $285, also credited. All work happens in the shop, since we run no mobile or roadside service.
